• Reflect upon the power of love, which is revealed through
one’s actions, expressions and words. Love comes from God, and
God alone, even through me, can reach out and touch the hearts of
those I love.

4. love is diFFusive

A camp of a few meters, in a desolate place; a dying man, who
cannot even get up. And yet it was from this very camp and from this
very man that the overwhelming power of God’s love was poured
out, a love that knows how to welcome, listen, offer comfort and
wipe away tears. And so many people were attracted by it.

ideas For reFlection CONCRETE INSTRUMENTS OF HOLINESS

• This is what holiness is: knowing how to let oneself die so
that only God can emerge. It is a slow path, made up of small possible
steps. Reading his story, Takashi may seem heroic and unattainable.
In reality, his life was a slow journey of conversion, in which God
became flesh, first in the Moriyama family, then in Midori.
• Reflect on our journey of holiness: the Lord gives us the
strength to accomplish what he asks and calls us to at this time, with
gentleness and mercy, even through those closest to us.
