Laura spent the period of her widowhood at home, always
attentive to each person’s needs. Her grandchildren remember how
she was always ready to listen to them; when they came back to visit
her, they were amazed at how she remembered their conversations,
even if they were minor and unimportant things, said as children, but
in this way their grandmother made them feel important. 12
tHe First testimony oF Her HusBand’s saintHood
On December 11, 1998, Laura had the joy of attending the
opening session of the Diocesan Process on the virtues of her husband
Eduardo in Pamplona and, shortly afterwards, she became the first ENGAGEMENT, MATRIMONY AND CHILDREN
witness at the Process.
She died in an odor of sanctity, on October 11, 2000, after
having endured the pain of her back disease for so many years without
ever losing her smile.
