3. doinG God’s Will

Ulisse and Lelia always referred to God, in both the small and
big choices, always concerned to know how to do His will, even when
it did not correspond to their desires, to their expectations. When
their son Francesco, only 10 years old, asked to enter the seminary,
their parents were not serene and, in asking for advice from their
friend Monsignor Ronca, Ulisse expressed himself in this way: «I
understand very well, on the other hand, that it is not for me to judge
such a thing and that the only thing I must do is to submit myself
completely to do the will of God» .

• Following God’s will in the great decisions of life as well as in
the small daily choices, requires constant dialogue with God, knowing
how to address Him with simplicity: Lord, what do you think? Lord,
what should we do with this child? Lord, how can I respond to this
person, how can I solve this problem? CONCRETE INSTRUMENTS OF HOLINESS

4. liGHt in FaitH

The two spouses have very different personalities, Lelia is
optimistic and always cheerful while Ulisse is more meditative and
pessimistic. What they have in common is their faith, experienced as
«a light through which all the events of the family [are] seen together
and together discussed, interpreted and accepted» .
