Daphrose lived the humiliation of repudiation and the pain of
not feeling loved by her husband in silence and prayer. Even when
she was welcomed back into the family, Cyprien remained tough and
closed off. Their marriage was a façade, but Daphrose did not lose EVERYDAY LIFE IN THE RUGAMBA FAMILY
hope and continued, trusting, her abandonment to God in prayer.

• What does Daphrose’s attitude evoke in me: she suffers a
terrible injustice, her son was taken away from her, but she persevered
in loving her husband, trusting in God’s help.
• Think about how one reacts in the face of small daily
disagreements, when we disagree with our spouse, when the attitude
of some family member causes us pain, when we struggle to forgive.
