His illness

In 1980, Cyprien, fell ill to the point of experiencing moments
in which he was not self-sufficient. The doctors did not understand the
origin of the disease and were unable to treat him.

Daphrose encountered a group of the Charismatic Renewal; her
prayers increased and intensified until they gave her a strength that
wasn’t in her nature, thus allowing her to dedicate herself completely to
her husband, despite her wounds, humiliation and a never-pronounced
request for forgiveness.

tHe poWer oF BearinG Witness

Cyprien, who was ill, saw that his wife had changed, her
devotion, which he knew he did not deserve. He began to doubt: who
gives her that strength? Could it be the God in whom she believes and
prays incessantly?
He confided to a friend, «I made her suffer and she showed me
only love. My wife’s God, one day I will pray to him» .

HealinG and conversion

Traveling to Belgium to find a solution to his illness, Cyprien
suddenly feels an unusual burning sensation and his disabling
symptoms disappeared. His heart poured out the words and he
composed a song about God: «this white sky where the King awaits
me. If ever I am called, by grace, do not grieve. I will answer the call
in joy and enter heaven dancing» . These are words that, later on, will

prove to be prophetic.
