He turned to the Moriyama family, descendants of the leaders
of the community of the Hidden Christians of Urakami, the people
who for centuries, in hiding, had kept the Catholic faith alive in their
families .

In silence, the Moriyama family prays that the student they
were hosting may encounter Christ in the sick people he cared for.

cHristmas mass

In 1932 Takashi was invited by the Moriyama family to attend
Christmas Mass. It was a turning point, as he himself recalled:
«There were about 5000 people, all villagers, in total silence and
they seemed so small in front of the immensity of that Presence. But
is man so tiny in front of the Almighty? So fragile? [...] that which is
strong and great is only the work of the Almighty» .

BIOGRAPHY
