a proFound unity
One of the two children attested: «These two spouses had matured
profoundly due to very different events. Their personalities were also
different: she was lively and clever, quick-witted, imaginative and
expansive; he was mindful, methodical, silent and contemplative.
But both were always serene, with a backdrop of optimism in their
souls. But above all they were permeated with faith and essential and
authentic religiousness» .

“tHe lord Will Help us”
Domenica wrote in her diary: «We will have many children and
we will educate them in the love of the Lord and in charity towards
others» . This wish was granted: the children came, one after the

other, and were welcomed as a precious gift from God, even though ENGAGEMENT, MATRIMONY AND CHILDREN
there were concerned about maintaining a family that was rapidly
growing.
Sister Augusta recalled: «The mother used to tell us that when
she was worried about a new pregnancy, the father would calm her
down: “Don’t worry, if the Lord sends another child, his Providence
will help us”» .

In fact, there was always Divine Providence, but there was
also the generosity to provide a meal, to spend time listening to or
comforting those who came to their door.
